1. Lighting of Shipshewana - Light Parade & Ceremony
Saturday, November 10, 2018 | Parade begins at 6:00 pm from flea market grounds
The Lighting of Shipshewana Light Parade & Ceremony is a huge, one-of-a-kind event that ushers in the Holiday season. Thousands of visitors and residents line the streets to watch lighted floats, carriages, and more pass by during the light parade. The parade ends in front of the Blue Gate Restaurant, where there is a traditional Christmas tree lighting, complete with a reading of the Christmas story and Christmas Carols. It truly is a family-friendly event.
There are many other activities happening in town during the day including the Shipshewana Across the Road Indoor Market, a visit from Santa, downtown shopping and entertainment.
2. Shipshewana Across the Road Indoor Market
Fridays & Saturdays, October 5 through December 16, 2018 | Farmstead Expo Barn
The Shipshewana Across the Raod Indoor Market is a unique holiday shopping experience! Shoppers can expect to see 50-60 vendors in a smaller-scale indoor version of the famous outdoor Shipshewana Flea Market with unique gift items, a selection of local crafts, and a variety of other goods.
The indoor market is open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays through December 15, 2018, 9 am - 4 pm. Admission and parking are free.
Special indoor market events include DIY Classes and a new "Winter Wonderland Walk-through" held on the second floor of the market in November and December.
3. Ship-Chic Craft & Vintage Show Holiday Bazaar

The Ship-Chic (pronounced ship / sheek) Craft & Vintage Show Holiday Bazaar is an indoor Christmas market featuring over 80 vendors with amazing gifts, home decor, vintage items, handmade crafts, clothing, accessories, jewelry, baked goods and more.
Grab your girlfriends for a fun day of shopping for unique items and gifts.The Holiday Bazaar is on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 9am - 3pm inside the Shipshewana Auction Building at 345 S Van Buren St in Shipshewana.
4. Shipshewana's Lights of Joy
November 16 - December 30, 2018 | Thursday through Sunday | Shipshewana RV Park
Make new holiday memories and traditions with your family by visiting the brand new Shipshewana's Lights of Joy. Visitors will drive through more than two million LED lights in free-standing holiday displays.
Held at the Shipshewana RV Park, Thursday through Sunday, November 16 through December 30, 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm. Shipshewana Trading Place and Blue Gate Hospitality have partnered with Winterland, Inc. to bring the holiday experience to town.
5. Chocolate Day Walk

Did somebody say "Chocolate?" On this special day in Shipshewana, visitors enjoy walking to various stores in town to collect delicious chocolates. What more could anyone want?
Start by purchasing a one-of-a-kind chocolate box at Aunt Millie's Candy & Nuts inside the Davis Mercantile. Then stroll through the delightful town collecting chocolate confections to fill your box. All inclusive.
6. Kids Day

Kids travel to locations throughout Shipshewana for a day of fun activities and surprises.
Santa will be available for a visit from noon to 3 pm on the second floor of the Farmstead Expo Barn (Home of the Shipshewana Across the Road Indoor Market)! He will be handing out free goodie bags to the children inside the "winter wonderland walkthrough."
There will also be a Kids' Safety Day taking place on site, featuring free children's fingerprinting and photo I.D.'s with the Shipshewana Police Department.
7. Shipshewana Ice Festival
December 27 & 28, 2018
At the annual Shipshewana Ice Festival, teams of carvers take over the town to drill and shave blocks of ice into beautiful creations all over Shipshewana! The creations they design are submitted by a sponsor or are the carver's choice. Visitors can enjoy seeing the carvings at various locations, watching the special ice carving competition, and voting for their favorite chili at the Chili Cook-Off.
To get the full experience, visitors can purchase the 2018 Shipshewana Ice Festival Pin which allows for free admission into the Chili Cook-off plus lots of discounts at Shipshewana stores during the entire month of January!
