Top 10 Flea Market Vendor FAQs


With an average of 10,000 to 12,000 customers attending each week,the Shipshewana Flea Market is a great place to buy and sell. If you’ve ever wondered about being a vendor, here are some frequently asked questions that’ll get you pointed in the right direction!


1. When is the Shipshewana Flea Market open?

The flea market is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from the first Tuesday in May through the Last Wednesday in September from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm EST.  It is also open for extended markets on Memorial Day, 4th of July Labor Day, and special weekend markets.


2. What do I need to bring?

If you want any type of coverage, bring your own pop-up canopy. Bring tables and chairs as well as any other display set-up items you will need. Don’t forget to have cash to make change! Electricity is available in each space. WiFi is also available. Download Flea Market Packing List PDF


3. What’s the size of the space?

The space size is 25 feet wide by 20 feet deep (outdoor). That means you have 25 feet of aisle frontage!


4. Can I park on my space?

Yes, if your set-up allows, you are more than welcome to park directly on your space. Many people incorporate their vehicle into their set-up or use it as a convenient storage room for grabbing extra merchandise. Some people even sleep in their vehicles right on their space at night!


5. Can I come just one day?

Yes, you can do 1 day or 2 day rentals. You are more than welcome to try the market out for just one day if you would like. 


6. Where will my space be?

The flea market office staff will help you. The office has a list of spaces that are available each week. We will place you in the best possible space based on your products. Check out our map!


7. How do I get a space?

There are a couple different ways you can do it! Fill out an application and send it in via mail or email. You can also come to the flea market office directly (Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays), we would just need your driver’s license to get you into our database.


8. What’s allowed to be sold?

Lots of different products are allowed to be sold at the flea market. We do however, have some legal restrictions such as Alcohol, drug related items, firearms, fireworks, and/or counterfeit merchandise

9. What are the hours of set-up?

Monday is our vendor set-up day. The flea market office is open from 10am-8pm, with the gates remaining open until 10pm. Gates and office open back up on Tuesday/Wednesday morning beginning at 6am. All vehicles not parking on spaces must be off the flea market grounds by 8:00am. Flea market opens to the public at 8am and remains open until 4pm.


10. How much is a space?

Spaces are rented a few different ways. Here are your options:

Weekly rental: $55.00 for both days or $35.00 for 1 day

Monthly rental/permanent space: $37-45.00/week depending on the space. Month is paid in advance.
